I applied with Veterans United late one night on a whim, honestly not expecting much — I was in the middle of a frustrating experience with a local credit union and had pretty low expectations for how this would go. Joshua Schmidt called me the next day, less than 24 hours after I submitted my application, and said "You're good to go, let's get the VA appraisal scheduled." I genuinely couldn't believe how fast and straightforward that was compared to what I'd just been through elsewhere.From there, Richard Litzinger (Loan Coordinator) took over and ran point on communication with my real estate agent, the VA appraiser, and everyone else involved, all the way through to closing. I know reviews here tend to show up under the loan officer's profile, but I don't want Richard's work to go unrecognized — he was the one keeping everything moving behind the scenes and made what could've been a stressful process feel completely handled.Between Joshua's responsiveness at the start and Richard's follow-through to the finish, this was hands-down the smoothest, most professional part of my home-buying experience. Highly recommend both of them and Veterans United as a whole.Update: A few days after closing, I got a sketchy-looking email claiming my homeowner's insurance was about to be cancelled for non-payment. I emailed Joshua about it not really expecting a fast response since the loan was already closed — but he got back to me right away, put in a ticket, and had it fully sorted out within about an hour. It's reassuring to know the support doesn't stop once you have the keys.
