I think veterans united along with Charlie and his team were great to me. It is a stressful and long process but I wouldn’t have done it any other way. Thank you from me and my family!

The team of Derek, Ashlyn, the closer and the rest really helped us get through the process. Always responsive and informative. Changes that came along the way, they really took them head on and at an expedient pace, often same day turnaround on items.I have to really acknowledge Derek as he was ALWAYS available! It was truly exciting and appreciated to work with him. We are moved in and just simply grateful.

From the very beginning when we started our journey back in 2023, Veterans United has always been so encouraging. We had no idea where or how to start the process of buying a home and it seemed very out of reach. Even though we weren't in a great place to start our home buying journey, they walked us through step by step what we needed to do to get to our goal of buying a home. In the past, I had a very negative view on the process of buying a home because of what others had told us they had gone through. Our experience was the complete opposite and I am so grateful for our team. Never did I believe that we would be homeowners and now here we are in 2025 all thanks to Veterans United.

We setup to downsize and use the funds we received from the sale of our house to pay for the purchase of our new home. However we ended up with a loan for our new home and ended up being loosing money. We sold our house for $514,900.00 and purchasing our new home for $480,000.00. You ended up setting us up with a loan for the new home and putting around $470,000.00 into our checking account. There is a difference of around $44,000.00. This leaves us loosing money in order to downsize to a home that we thought we would have paid off with the sale of our home.

Response from Veterans United

Hi Eldora,
I’m sorry to hear about the confusion surrounding the proceeds from your home sale and the loan on your new home. I know how stressful it can feel when the numbers don’t seem to add up the way you expected. My goal is to help make sure you have a clear understanding of how everything came together at closing.

Because each transaction can involve several moving parts — from the timing of funds to the coordination between sale and purchase — I’d really like my team to review your file with you directly so we can walk through the details together. Please reach out to us at 1-800-212-5200 or email us at ClientAdvocate@vu.com. We’re in the office Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time.
