Veterans United is extremely easy to work with and I’ve only ever had positive experiences! I will always recommended them to fellow veterans and I’ll definitely be back if I need another loan in the future.

All my questions were answered promptly and confidently.

Let's get this straight, if you put in the work on your end Veterans United will outperform any notion you have about buying a home, whether be it your first home purchase or your 100th they will get it done. I can't speak highly enough about me team. Now in the beginning I had some people issues, some of the original team and I did not see eye to eye, but I can attest that once Alverto Barba got involved with my loan, in was absolutely flawless. Jenny is rock solid, you have an issue, a question, comment, concern, or gratitude, she maslde sure it was always handled professionally and quickly.Thank you does not even brush he surface of my family and I'sadmiration, for now we may flourish. Thanks Veteran United, thanks

VU was able to close this deal very quicky! The lending team was such a great help.

Everyone I had working with me, Ben, Matt, Josh, and Lisa were all incredibly hard working and helpful. 10/10 would recommend!

I would like to thank Tyson Smith and team for helping us turn our dream into a beautiful reality. The process could have not been simpler or gone smoother. I recommend VU to any veteran seeking to purchase a home.

The process took longer than I thought it would button your defense. You were very, very thorough and I thank you for that.

We had a great experience with Rob Hayward (loan officer) and Rachel Jones (realtor) through Veterans United. They were super helpful, responsive, and stuck with us even when we switched homes midway through the process. Everything went smoothly and when it didn’t they both gave us more than we expected. We’d definitely recommend VU!

Experience first-hand why 338,943 homeowners give us a perfect score!

VU was a great choice as they worked very hard to navigate through some of my challenges. I would recommend them but be aware and pay attention to the documentation as they have a pet step funding fee!

Great service, professional people. I would highly recommend.

Veterans United made the house buying process very easy and explained everything to us.

I'm happy the loan went through. They overall offer lowest interest rates. Zero down loan is a wonderful benefit for the military to have. Our appraiser was actually very punctual and timely. We had one member I loved her job is reminding to set up utilities and other things of that nature massive sweetheart and emotional support for me. We also had an insurance person, he was wonderful got us a lower rate on car insurance super cool guy. The bad: I believe it was a move concierge called to set up services ALL he cared about was pushing vivent home security on me. After I read reviews, I asked him to cancel them coming out. I was pressured to sign and proceed around 6 times despite telling staff NO. After I did not sign, he did not set up my fios and never contacted me again. The two men I texted with, I felt never listened to me and found me a burden. They were extremely friendly when we first reached out stating they'd be available 24/7, then when I had question they were all on vacation or leave. I voiced my goals and what worked for me but I was not really asked what I wanted. Despite commented on the mock closing disclosures what we wanted we were not listened to at all and then staff irritated we werent estatic over lower closing cost. We wanted closing costs as close as possible to $42k for the lowest possible mortgage. They wrote everything up for $31k expected us to be thrilled then when asked to fix informed me we wouldnt be able to close in time if they did it the way we told them for 2 months we wanted it. I had to ask very specific questions to have everything explained to me and even sent our information to a separate lender for someone to explain things to me because with atleast Ward I just kept being told everything was fine. Huge communication breakdown. When I had concerns over the automatic weekly mock closing disclosures just told "theyre automatic everything will be corrected later."
It came across as a lack of concern or interest assisting. We were also pushed to pay the appraisal fee immediately because the appraiser can be slow. We followed instructions, then received a bad inspection report and they did not want to freeze or pause our money and informed us VA appraisers don't like when he do that. UMMMMMMM ok I don't like spending $600 on a house I didn't buy. I am overall not impressed with them other than the insurance rep and the woman Deloris that checks in and helps assist. Deloris is ABOVE and BEYOND wonderful and took the stress off.
Response from Veterans United
Hey Campbell,
Thanks for sharing such a detailed and honest review. I’m really glad to hear that parts of the experience went smoothly—especially that you had great support from your appraiser, insurance contact, and Deloris. She’s truly one of a kind, and I’ll make sure she hears how much her help meant to you.
That said, I’m really sorry the rest of the process left you feeling unheard and overwhelmed. Having to explain your goals multiple times and still not be listened to is incredibly frustrating—especially when it leads to avoidable confusion and pressure near closing. You shouldn’t have had to ask so many specific questions just to get the clarity you needed.
The experience you described with the concierge service and pressure around third-party products is also concerning. That’s not how those services are supposed to work, and I can understand why that interaction felt frustrating and dismissive. We appreciate you pointing it out so we can take a closer look.
If you’re open to it, I’d like to make sure your experience is reviewed more thoroughly. Our Client Advocate team can be reached at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. We’re available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST.
Thanks again for the feedback—and for sticking with the process even when it didn’t go the way it should have. You deserved better communication, more transparency, and a smoother ride.
