Matt and his team were able to get me locked in at a lower interest rate on a home refinance. They were quick on their feet when there was an issue with the previous year’s taxes and got the situation resolved prior to closing. Matt and his team were very professional and responsive during the entire process.

We’ve used Veterans United 3 times now. Each time it’s gone smoothly and we have no complaints. Torri has been awesome. Always available to answer questions, made the whole process really transparent. If we need another mortgage, Veterans United will be our first phone call.

For my 1st home refinance, this was a NIGHTMARE!!! And I'm not the Veteran, My Husband is. The added stress from this what should have been a slam dunk REFINANCE, UNACCEPTABLE for OUR VETERANS!!! From confusing phone calls, texts, submitting same documents more the 3 times, lied to about closing dates, even at closing the paperwork wasn't accurate! Get your shit together! Very DISAPPOINTED! Especially because of the name they use!!!

Response from Veterans United

Hi Thomas,
I’m really sorry to hear how stressful and frustrating this refinance experience was for you and your family. What should have been a straightforward process clearly fell short, and I understand how repeated document requests, unclear communication, and inaccurate timelines would be incredibly upsetting.

I also hear how important this is given your family’s connection to a Veteran. That trust means a lot, and I’m sorry we didn’t live up to it here.

I’d truly like the opportunity to look into what happened and better understand where things broke down, especially around communication and closing expectations. If you’re open to it, please reach out to me directly at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com.

Our team is available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday, and we’ll follow up as soon as possible if you reach out outside those hours.

Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager

Ben reached out and was ready to start the process! He was really great, just like he was the first time with the buying of our home. Ben has always been super communicative and helps explain the whole process in great detail!

Veterans United made the home loan process straightforward and stress-free. Their team was knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely understood the VA loan process from start to finish. Communication was clear, timelines were met, and we always knew what to expect. Highly recommend Veterans United to any veteran looking for a lender that truly has your back.

once again VU was great but not so much the title company. we were told our disbursement would be direct deposit. we gave them that info then find out it was mailed . as I work for the USPS that is 4 to 5 days when everything is working right. since we had two truck break downs we will be lucky to get the check by the 13th or 14th. now I know they had no control over that but still. let them know we won't use them again.

I had a good experiance when I bought the house but when I was just doing a streamline which should have been simple and easy.
No one told me to stop autopay before closing and I was told I wouldn’t have to pay the next month,, so I didn’t transfer the money and you ran autopay which cost me 60.00 in fees before I caught it. When I called about it I felt like the several people I talked blew me off saying I should’ve stopped autopay.Next you canceled the home owners insurance policy which then created a whole lot of stress and issues trying to get that corrected and my home covered, luckily nothing happened in the 6 days I didn’t have coverage, when the papwer work I signed said that coverage was supposed to be paid through mortgage as it was before the refinance. Also I don’t understand why closing cost were almost as high as the first loan especially for a stream line and then the rate was higher when said and done versus when I started the process.

Response from Veterans United

Hey Allen,
I appreciate you sharing your feedback, and I’m sorry to hear the refinance process didn’t go as smoothly as your first experience with us. I understand how frustrating it must have been dealing with the autopay issue, the temporary lapse in insurance coverage, and the questions about your costs and rate. That’s not the kind of stress we ever want to create for our borrowers.

I’d really like my advocates to review your file and see what happened so we can better explain those details and make sure your concerns are fully addressed. Please reach out to us at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. Our team is available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time.
