Hey Rodger,
Thanks for the kind words! Providing great service is what we aim for, and it’s awesome to hear we hit the mark. If you ever need anything in the future, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Exceptionally helpful and fast helped cross y’all and dot i’s.

Despite some hiccups in the communication between the Lending team and the Agent, overall I had a good experience utilizing Veterans United for my first home purchase.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received during my recent purchase in September/October 2025. I found the experience highly unsettling and felt taken advantage of.During the purchase process, the interest rate dropped to 5.8%. I was explicitly informed by my loan officer that he would lock in this rate for me, with the possibility of it dropping further. Unfortunately, the rates increased back to over 6%, and I was ultimately financed at 6.628% instead of the promised 5.8%. Despite my representative's denial of committing to the 5.8% rate, I was assured otherwise, which led to significant disappointment as a first-time buyer. I sincerely play on words, and as a first time buyer, I was definitely fixated on the 5.8% and no one could tell me otherwise. I was very excited…At least at that point in time. Whatever happened to, “the phone calls are recorded for quality assurance purposes“? Pretty ironic that the phone call was not recorded.Additionally, the loan terms were altered before closing, with additional terms added, further complicating the situation. Given my circumstances, including having signed a second extension on my rental apartment and the impending expiration of my lease, I felt compelled to proceed despite my reservations (100% Disabled Veteran and family with special needs child). To add insult to injury—My daughter is attending college on a Volleyball scholarship…Veterans United sent a gift for BASKETBALL…smh. No, I’m not being ungrateful…I’m just being really mad and pissed off! FILTERED!Just goes to show and prove…It’s all about that “dollar bill”!I am profoundly disappointed with the service provided and believe that this company should not be associated with Any Veterans.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Darryl,
I’m really sorry that this experience left you feeling disappointed and frustrated. Buying a home should be an exciting milestone, especially as a first-time buyer, and I hate that you walked away from this process feeling misled. I’d really like my team to take a closer look at what happened with your rate lock and the changes to your loan terms before closing. If you’re open to it, please reach out to us at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com so we can talk through this.
I also hear your frustration about the gift. It was meant to be a small token of appreciation, but I can see how the mix-up might have made it feel impersonal. That’s on us, and I appreciate you sharing that feedback.
I know you put a lot of trust in us during this process, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. I’d really hope we have the chance to learn more and see how we can do better.
We wouldnt know what to do without the team we had since we are first time homebuyer. Hooyah VU!!!!

Great service from beginning to end. Very happy with selecting Veterans United as our lender for our new home.

I have been working with VUHL for the past 5 to 7 years and more aggressively searching these past two years. Qualifying was not our issue. As I said the process qualifying hadnt been our issue. Our issue was finding something in the criteria of VUHL, Distance of Location, Affordability, Market availability and not being bullied out of an opportunity that could be reasonable. Well unreasonably it is far from where we'd love to be but near enough we wanted to pull this trigger and pursue the closing out on our Journey. Kudos To Mark Dischert, Chris Angelo who have for the most of our journey aiding in follow ups Erin Bell, Heather Risenhoover, Ally. safe landings now we're preparing to pick up our Keys T-Shirts from Lennar at Aviano from VUHL soon. Thank you Veterans United.

I bought my first home last month. Eric and team made the buying process run smoothly. They made sure to answer all of my questions and guide me throughout the process. Will definitely recommend them to my family and friends. I also plan to use their service again when buying houses in the future.

I never thought I would be in a position to buy a home this young and early in my family's life. I'm forever grateful for this opportunity and will definitely come here again for any future endeavors.
