The whole team was excellent.! They all worked diligently to make things happen smoothly.

For me, I had a ton of questions! I had and still have, no idea of what the mortgage world is all about. But my biggest dig, is the restrictions. I’m moving from NH to OH. NH is my home and always has been. My friends and family are here. And now, because of demanding circumstances and the massive restrictions both the VA and VU has, makes hunting for a home virtually impossible. Especially when you’ve got barely 170k to work with. Y’all need to lower your restrictions, especially towards those that are more than willing to fix up a home. Which btw, the VA allows you to purchase a home that needs some basic repairs. Where VU does not. And at the end of the day, it’s all about money. For me, that was a major issue for me, because I am very skilled and handy. A little chipped paint isn’t going to be a deal breaker for me, for people like me, we look at it as “sweet, I’ve got something to do and I can provide my personal flavor to MY house”!

Matt Colgin and his team went above and beyond per the usual! We love our new home! This is our third time working with them.

Very knowledgeable, responsive and friendly.

This was the fastest easiest way to get a home! I would not know what to have done without them! They got me in a home so fast! Best choice I have ever made!

I would not ever recommend them to anyone. After all the digging into me and my wife's finances, they kept changing the number to help the seller. The people they got to, so-called help use were a joke. They kept changing the closing date because they were trying to find a way to make more money off us. A lot of the stuff they were asking us was the same stuff we had already given them. A lot of stuff was so last-minute to help them take advantage of us being first-time buyers. They should not be using the name Veteran United, they are just taking advantage of us because they know the money is guaranteed from the VA. So please beware and find other people who know about the process to help you. And whatever you do not trust their word about anything, get a second opinion. You also need to keep a close eye on thier documents and the numbers becaused they will keep changing them tto make your loan go higher and here if they see they can squeeze more out of you so be very very carefull.
Response from Veterans United
Hey Alexander,
I’m really sorry for how this felt. I hear how upsetting it was to see numbers change, to be asked for the same documents again, and to have closing dates move. I can understand why you’d feel taken advantage of, especially as first-time buyers. That’s not the experience you should have had, and I’m sorry it left you feeling this way.
