The app made the process a lot smoother. The team made my dream a reality!

I have a huge problem with the appraisal company. Some how, some way, they got my estranged father’s cellphone and texted him with my name and the address of the property. We have no relationship and I certainly did not include his contact information anywhere. I don’t know if they have any obligation towards privacy but this was the least professional break in trust possible my contact information was listed on every form. We have different first names. When I inquired to where they got the number he didn’t have an answer. If I wasn’t afraid it would hold up the sale I would have made a much larger issue.

I knew I was going to go with Veterans United after my first phone call with Nichole. She was extremely easy to talk to. I was able to get all of my questions answered, I was informed about things I was not aware of and it was a pleasant conversation to boot. She as well as the rest of her team, Amber and Kaylyn, maintained this pleasant, informative professionalism throughout the process. It was so comforting knowing I had these three individuals working hard to get me into my first home. The day before closing something came up last minute that looked like it could delay closing. Nichole not only handled herself with the utmost professionalism but she communicated clearly exactly what was going on and made sure her team made the sacrifices necessary to ensure closing would happen on time. You could tell my situation was her #1 priority.Bottom Line: This team works well and actually cares about you. You want these ladies handling your home loan! I will absolutely refer Nichole, Amber and Kaylyn and I will be reaching out to Nichole personally to handle my future loan needs.

The whole VU team was amazing from the very beginning. I was petrified of purchasing my first home on my own, but they made it so easy and were there throughout every step. From the amazing communication, to their fast response, to the willingness and availability to answer any questions I had, I could not have been happier with them and the outcome of the purchase. Thank you so much for helping make my dream of being a homeowner come through!

Awesome service they really took care of me to get the house I wanted

Our experience with Veterans United was nothing short of outstanding. We were pre approved for a mortgage with a couple of other companies but chose to stick to Veterans because of the fantastic customer service. A true pleasure from beginning to end. Their highly personalized housewarming present at closing showed a remarkable attention to detail and made a huge impression on us.

I think the way the system works is prone to breakdowns and overall it was chaotic, lacked organization, and I felt like we had to keep the ball rolling for ourselves. Communication between entities was terrible and we often had to let the different folks on the team know what other folks had told us. We had to submit and resubmit paperwork over and over again, and correct mistakes constantly. It took us months to get to underwriting even though our loan should have been very straightforward. We had cash in hand and were ready to put 50% down. We almost had to adjust our closing date on the day we were supposed to sign… after putting out fire after fire that our team didn’t catch. For an organization that serves a community that is full of folks who have served in combat, have service connected disabilities, and generally are pretty flexible and roll with the punches, I felt Veterans United was a really poor fit. Honestly, I still stressed that something is going to go wrong and our financing is going to fall through… even after we’ve closed.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Joshua,
I’m truly sorry to hear about your experience—it sounds like the process was incredibly frustrating and far more stressful than it should have been. Having to resubmit paperwork, deal with communication breakdowns, and push to keep the ball rolling on your own is absolutely not the level of service we aim to provide, especially to those who’ve served our country.
I can’t imagine how stressful it must have been to feel like you were constantly putting out fires, even up to the day you were supposed to sign. That’s not how buying a home should feel, and I’m so sorry we let you down. While I’m glad you were able to close, I hate that it left you feeling uncertain and still worried about your financing. You deserve to feel confident and supported throughout the process—and beyond.
If you’re open to it, I’d really like you to connect with my team so we may learn more about what happened. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve, and I want to make sure no one else feels the way you did. You can reach us directly at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com.
Thank you for sharing your experience, and for trusting us with something as important as your home loan.
My team got things done in 14 days .during the holiday season.out standing.
