The whole team was excellent.! They all worked diligently to make things happen smoothly.

For me, I had a ton of questions! I had and still have, no idea of what the mortgage world is all about. But my biggest dig, is the restrictions. I’m moving from NH to OH. NH is my home and always has been. My friends and family are here. And now, because of demanding circumstances and the massive restrictions both the VA and VU has, makes hunting for a home virtually impossible. Especially when you’ve got barely 170k to work with. Y’all need to lower your restrictions, especially towards those that are more than willing to fix up a home. Which btw, the VA allows you to purchase a home that needs some basic repairs. Where VU does not. And at the end of the day, it’s all about money. For me, that was a major issue for me, because I am very skilled and handy. A little chipped paint isn’t going to be a deal breaker for me, for people like me, we look at it as “sweet, I’ve got something to do and I can provide my personal flavor to MY house”!

Matt Colgin and his team went above and beyond per the usual! We love our new home! This is our third time working with them.

I would recommend Veterans United one thousand percent and then some. They were so communicative throughout the entire process. Never once did I feel as though I did not understand what was happening or lost. Any questions that I did have, they answered and were extremely patient. The entire VU team was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. It made me feel as though this was not my first time buying a home because it felt so natural. I was afraid the process would be long, hard, and maybe someone would pull the wool over my eyes. But the transparency of the VU team made all those fears go away. They truly are in this for the right reasons and it shows. They helped me and my family purchase our first home in less than a month and we are forever grateful and blessed!

Got me the best rate and was able to close within two weeks!

Chris Porter was an absolute stud. Donna was lazy, slow, didn't communicate ever and almost talked the deal multiple times due to miss poor work ethic. At multiple times in the 8.5 months it took to close; Donna would be unresponsive for weeks and as a result we had to redo paperwork after paperwork. Would not recommend!
Response from Veterans United
Hey Nathan,
I really appreciate you sharing your feedback and giving a shoutout to Chris for the great work he did. I’m truly sorry to hear that the rest of your experience was such a struggle. Going through an 8-month process with long stretches of unresponsiveness sounds incredibly frustrating, and I can understand why you’d feel disappointed after putting so much time and effort into this.
We never want communication gaps or delays to cause extra stress, and your feedback helps us see where we can do better to keep every part of the loan process moving smoothly. My Client Advocate team would really like the chance to learn more about what happened and address your concerns directly. You can reach us at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com.
We’re available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time and will follow up the next business day if you reach out after hours.
I am a first time home owner and to be honest just the prospect of applying for a home loan seemed daunting and I had no idea what I was in for. Veterans United made the whole process seamless, set me up with a awesome realtor and made the experience a positive.

Very knowledgeable, responsive and friendly.
