Just like everything else VA associated, Veterans United is just as incompetent. I would have much rather gotten a conventional loan and avoided contact with my “loan team”.I do not want further contact from Veterans United for any reason moving forward.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Arthur,
I’m really sorry to hear that your experience left you feeling this way. That’s the opposite of what we hope for anyone who works with us — especially someone who served.
I hear you loud and clear on not wanting further contact, and we’ll absolutely respect that. If you ever change your mind or decide you’d like to talk through anything, our Client Advocate team is here to listen. You can always reach us at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com — but only if and when you’re ready.

Michael, Kyle, Hayden and Christy all did such an amazing job. Everyone was always on top of everything and they were able to answer any question I had at any given moment. This was mine and my wife’s first time buying a home and I don’t think it could’ve gone any smoother. When we asked if we could try close early, the team managed to get the work done and we were able to get the keys when we wanted. I absolutely loved working with this team and will be looking forward to working with Veterans United more in the future (Hopefully the same team). Thank you to Veterans United and the rest of the team for all the hard work you guys do. I couldn’t be happier with how this home buying process went and it’s all because of you guys!

Communication was great. They were very helpful and didn’t push. Always got back to me in a quick fashion.

Veterans United always makes this so smooth and effortless. I am so thankful that I can always rely on them for an easy home buying experience.

The underwriting process was VERY stressful, and made the home buying process VERY difficult. It put our family under an unnecessary amount of stress, and common sense was not always at the forefront.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Matthew,
I’m so sorry to hear that the underwriting process was such a source of stress for you and your family. Buying a home should be an exciting time, not something that feels overwhelming. It’s clear we missed the mark here, and I truly regret that your experience wasn’t smoother.
We’d love the chance to dig into what happened and see how we can improve for future borrowers. If you’re willing, please reach out to us at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. Our team is in the office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST Monday through Friday, but feel free to contact us anytime, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
Thank you for sharing your feedback—it helps us do better.
Delay after delay after delay. That’s how it felt after my offer was accepted on the property I fell in love with almost as soon as I saw it. Planning to move across the country from North Carolina to Oregon left me stressed and uncertain about the future, as the dream home I wanted so badly started to feel like a pipe dream. Each time the closing date was pushed back, VU and my real estate agent let me know right away. Perhaps even more importantly, they managed to keep my expectations in check. It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking everything will definitely go according to plan the next time, but VU and Ashley (my real estate agent) did a fantastic job of keeping me grounded. They reminded me that, with so many variables still up in the air, there’s no guarantee things will unfold as expected. The treatment I received didn’t feel like a typical transaction. To me, it felt like I was dealing with longtime friends I could turn to for advice. After many struggles, 3,000 miles in an oil-guzzling Subaru, four very well-behaved puppies, and some close calls on winding mountain passes, we finally made it to our new home—and I couldn’t be happier. If nothing else, I want to thank the team at VU and my real estate agent for helping me get into the home of my dreams.

The guy that helped me when I initially was contacted by veterans United, his name was Austin. He was incredibly helpful and professional. He (much like Jeremy) gave me very concise and transparent feedback for all of my questions and offered information that I hadn't even though to ask but was very helpful to the decision making process. Huge shout-out to Austin.

Anna is amazing. She was exceptionally knowledgeable, and if I was to stump her on anything, she made sure to seek out the correct information. She kept me well informed pf everything that was happening, including what steps I needed to take to complete the refinace. She contacted me the day the rates dropped and was able to lock me in on a considerably lower rate. The new rate has given our family some breathing room in this tough economy. I could not be more pleased with the entire process.

Veterans United home loans was great to work with, they were great. Thank you to all who worked on my loan.

Danny Freeman and his team have helped me close on four properties in the past five years. Their consistency and professionalism have instilled trust in me which I have repaid with return business. You will not find an easier loan application or a more attentive mortgage team.
